The Louvre Museum [Paris, France]

The Louvre Museum, on the banks of the Seine River, is one of the major attractions for any traveler. With over 35,000 objects spanning prehistory to the modern day, it is a must see site on any Paris itinerary.

Be sure to plan ahead, get there early, and have a map handy as the museum is crowded and very large. It’s unlikely you’ll be able to see everything in one day so plan ahead for the areas you consider a priority. In my opinion, the Mona Lisa was worth seeing but nearly impossible to see up close. Try to ration more time for the less popular, but still interesting areas of the museum like Napoleon III’s Apartments in the Richelieu Wing.

In most areas of the Louvre, you are permitted to take photos and video for personal use only and never with a flash or other artificial lighting.
